AJ’s final curtain call trends on Twitter

The family and supporters of late actor AJ Perez tuned in to ABS-CBN's "Maalaala Mo Kaya" (MMK) on Saturday, April 30, for the actor's final performance before the fatal accident last April 17. AJ Perez portrayed the role of a homeless boy who travelled from Manila to Samar with his younger brother (Bugoy Carino,) in search of their relatives. This episode entitled "Tsinelas," shows the story of love and bond between brothers and their determination to carry on with their life's journey together.
As this is AJ's final performance as an actor, many people watched the show and made this particular MMK episode trend worldwide on Twitter on Saturday night with the hashtag #ajperezmmk. On Twitter trends, it said that AJ has a show airing in MMK and Filipinos show their love by making #ajperezmmk a trending topic.
AJ's family, who now manages AJ's Twitter account, tweeted and encouraged everyone to watch the MMK episode and thanked those who watched afterwards. Before AJ's death, he had been tweeting and promoting his MMK performance on Twitter. On April 12, AJ tweeted "My MMK episode will air on April 30. Don't miss it!" AJ was proud of his MMK performance that he tweeted many times about MMK, whether about what he was doing on taping or a promotion of the show.
Many people were touched watching the episode, not only because of AJ's heart-wrenching and effective portrayal as a homeless teenager, but also due to AJ's sudden death, which stopped him from soaring as a versatile actor.
In April 17, MMK's writer Benson Logronio tweeted, "AJ Perez breathed life to 1 of the 2 main characters of the latest ep I wrote for MMK. It's his curtain call on April 30. He'll make us cry." Fans and people from the TV industry tweeted about AJ's MMK episode. Comedian actress Pokwang also tweeted about AJ's MMK, "Doble ang luha ko kagabi sa MMK,una sa ganda ng kwento at pagkakaganap, pangalawa hinayang sa pausbong palang na husay at talento ni AJ :( ." Steph Ayson, AJ's girlfriend, also tweeted and promoted AJ's final performance. "You're still very much alive to me. I hope you can feel how proud I am of you up there in heaven. @ajperez17 #ajperezmmk."
The "Tsinelas" episode written by Benson Logronio and directed by Dado Lumibao marks AJ's final show as an actor.
